Reconstructing History

Since August 1997, Reconstructing History has brought the internet public reliable information on historical clothing. In September 2003, RH launched its historical patterns division, bringing to market exhaustively-documented patterns based on extant garments and period construction techniques. This month, we are proud to announce the next phase of Reconstructing History's expansion: Historical Clothing! We stand behind ever stitch we sew. Nothing you buy from RH will be less than the most historically-accurate piece you can buy. We'll never tell you it's your job to figure out if our products are historically accurate. That's OUR job! We do not sell compromises. We sell historical accuracy. We are Reconstructing History!

Rumping Productions

Our presentations of 'Simon & Betsy Kenton' and 'Squire & Jane Boone' have been thoroughly researched and documented, and are presented in a Chautauqua-like manner. We feel that the use of first person portrayals is a wonderful tool in bringing history alive for young and old alike.

My wife Nancy and I have been living historians of the 18th century for over 30 years, and we have been doing first person presentations of Simon and Betsy Kenton, and also more recently, of Squire and Jane Boone, Daniel Boone's younger brother. Our performances have been seen throughout the mid-west at living history events, museums, and as the main event at meetings, schools, libraries, and historical and genealogical societies.

We invite you to contact us for our presentation at your event, group, or community function for a trip back to life in the early frontier, listening to the tales of what life was really like for the settlers and frontiersmen in the 'Middle Ground'.

The Vikings UK

Founded in 1991, Leicester based " Vikings! (Of Middle England)" ™ have taken a step further than most similar organisations, with the aim of providing dynamic and exciting re-enactment events that seek to shock, scare, amuse " but above all " educate an audience in a dramatic and entertaining fashion. Maintaining a high standard of historical accuracy with regard to costume, equipment and persona, Vikings! (Of Middle England) portray the Viking era, a key point in British and European history, in great detail, but never stray from their mission to interact with an audience; not becoming a " static, museum-like " exhibiter, but a free-flowing and vibrant re-constructor of Dark-Age life.

Vikings! (Of Middle England) do not spare the audience the details, even the gruesome scenes of combat or the severity of crime and punishment " it all adds to the realistic feel that Vikings! (Of Middle England) pursue " a visceral and exciting historical representation you will not find anywhere else.
