Regia Anglorum, re-enactment society. We seek to accurately re-create the lives of the people who dwelt in Britain around a thousand years ago; from the time of Alfred the Great to that of Richard the Lionheart. We are a group of enthusiasts who work hard to recreate images of the past that Anglo-Saxons, Vikings, Normans and the other peoples of that far off time would find in no way unusual. Some of us are fighters, others are craftsmen and living historians - often we are all of these. |

Founded in 1991, Leicester based " Vikings! (Of Middle England)" ™ have taken a step further than most similar organisations, with the aim of providing dynamic and exciting re-enactment events that seek to shock, scare, amuse " but above all " educate an audience in a dramatic and entertaining fashion. Maintaining a high standard of historical accuracy with regard to costume, equipment and persona, Vikings! (Of Middle England) portray the Viking era, a key point in British and European history, in great detail, but never stray from their mission to interact with an audience; not becoming a " static, museum-like " exhibiter, but a free-flowing and vibrant re-constructor of Dark-Age life. Vikings! (Of Middle England) do not spare the audience the details, even the gruesome scenes of combat or the severity of crime and punishment " it all adds to the realistic feel that Vikings! (Of Middle England) pursue " a visceral and exciting historical representation you will not find anywhere else. |
